On the afternoon of March 14, the online launch ceremony for the Online Chinese Classroom, jointly established by Xinjiang Medical University and Khatlon State Medical University of Tajikistan, was successfully held. Attendees included Wang Jinhong, Chairperson of Chinese Plus, President of the Smart Education Branch of the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching, and Deputy General Manager of Wuzhou Hanfeng Network Technology Co., Ltd.; Ahmadiyon Shodmon Rajab, Vice President of Khatlon State Medical University; Sun Hongxin, Deputy Party Secretary of Xinjiang Medical University; as well as representatives from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the College of International Education, faculty members of the Online Chinese Classroom, and student representatives.

Chairperson Wang Jinhong, on behalf of Chinese Plus, extended her warm congratulations on the launch. She highlighted that the “Online Chinese Classroom” utilizes an innovative model combining live-streamed lectures with tutoring, delivering standardized, high-quality Chinese language education globally through the Chinese Plus Cloud Service Platform. To support the development of the classroom at Khatlon State Medical University, Chinese Plus will provide platform setup and maintenance, high-quality MOOC resources, and online teaching services. She expressed her hope that this initiative would serve as a bridge for language learning and cultural exchange, strengthen China-Tajikistan collaboration, and open new opportunities for further cooperation.

Vice President Ahmadiyon Shodmon Rajab emphasized that since 2000, the number of Tajik students in China has increased tenfold. Several Chinese universities have established research centers dedicated to Tajik history and culture, launched Tajik language programs, published more than 50 books and monographs on Tajik heritage for Chinese readers, and organized numerous cultural events, forums, exhibitions, and concerts. He also noted that Xinjiang Medical University is the first international partner with whom Khatlon State Medical University has signed a cooperation agreement since its establishment. The Online Chinese Classroom presents unique opportunities: students who complete the program may pursue postgraduate studies at Xinjiang Medical University, while faculty members can participate in internships and advanced training at its affiliated hospitals.

Deputy Party Secretary Sun Hongxin stated that since establishing ties with Khatlon State Medical University in 2017, the two institutions have worked closely together on academic exchanges, joint research, and faculty-student mobility. The launch of the Online Chinese Classroom not only strengthens their partnership but also symbolizes the growing friendship between China and Tajikistan. He expressed confidence that the project would promote language cooperation, cultural dialogue, and mutual understanding, helping to cultivate more Chinese language enthusiasts and build "people-to-people bridges" that benefit both nations. He warmly welcomed more Tajik faculty and students to Xinjiang Medical University, emphasizing the sharing of medical education resources, enhanced Belt and Road collaboration, and a new chapter of neighborly friendship and progress.

The establishment of the Online Chinese Classroom marks a significant milestone in the joint efforts of the two universities to promote educational and cultural exchange. Moving forward, within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, both sides will strengthen cooperation, support the global development of international Chinese education, and collaborate in cultivating talent to foster cross-cultural understanding and mutual prosperity.
